Ambitions avou\u00e9es\u00a0: r\u00e9investir le haut de gamme.<\/p>\n<p>Jusqu\u2019au milieu des ann\u00e9es 90, la berline traditionnelle \u00e9tait le v\u00e9hicule habituel des familles, Puis, plus pratiques \u00e0 l'usage, les monospaces compacts se sont impos\u00e9s... avant d'are d\u00e9laiss\u00e9s au profit des v\u00e9hicules de loisirs, \u00e0 l'image bien plus dynamique. Face \u00e0 la concurrence, la familiale \u00ab\u00a0classique ne petit plus lutter, m\u00eame si les ventes aux entreprises lui assurent un certain salut.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Changement de cap<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Et si la Peugeot 508 demeure num\u00e9ro 1 des ventes (le berlines en France avec 26000 unit\u00e9s en 2012, le r\u00e9sultat est moins pro\u00adbant en Europe\u00a0: il se vend moi\u00adti\u00e9 moins de 508 que de Volks\u00adwagen Passat. Afin de rebondir sur cc segment, Peugeot s'aven\u2011 turc jusqu'en Chine et sur les march\u00e9s o\u00f9 les produits made in France font encore r\u00eaver. En direction de Peugeot changera son fusil d'\u00e9paule en rempla\u00ad\u00e7ant la 508 par un mod\u00e8le plus fort en style, et davantage orient\u00e9 haut de gamme.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Plus radicale<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Cette orientation est d\u00e9j\u00e0 engag\u00e9e sur la plupart des mod\u00e8les, notamment via leur contenu technologique sans cesse en\u00adrichi. Et elle est la r\u00e9ponse de Peugeot \u00e0 la ligne DS de Citro\u00ebn. Mais le projet 508 II, appel\u00e9 R8 en interne, sera plus radical en remettant en cause la silhouette m\u00eame de l'auto. Finie la berline classique, place \u00e0 un habit dynamique de coup\u00e9 \u00e0 quatre portes. Peugeot imite ainsi la Volkswagen CC qui s'\u00e9mancipe de la Passat. I, encombrement sera \u00e9quivalent \u00e0 celui de l'actuelle 508 (4,79 ni), en revanche, le pavillon est abaiss\u00e9 de 6 cm (1,40 ni de haut). Ses proportions diff\u00e9rentes allongent visuellement le mod\u00e8le, qui, dessin\u00e9 de la sorte, parait plus statutaire... Un argument choc en Chine\u00a0! Mais elle est \u00e9galement plus sportive, plus f\u00e9line en somme. Peugeot rompt d\u00e9finitivement avec les lourdeurs du pass\u00e9 (907...) et se rapproche de l'un des plus beaux mod\u00e8les de son histoire r\u00e9cente: le coup\u00e9 406. Cette silhouette exclusive n'offre pas que des avantages. Certes, le toit bas r\u00e9duit la surface frontale et am\u00e9liore la p\u00e9n\u00e9tration dans l'air (Cx) au b\u00e9n\u00e9fice des performances et de la consommation. Mais il r\u00e9duit notablement l'habitabilit\u00e9, la luminosit\u00e9 et surtout, l'acc\u00e8s et la garde au toit aux places arri\u00e8re... Incompatible avec les familles\u00a0!<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Version longue<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Pour disposer d'une habitabilit\u00e9 suffisante aux places arri\u00e8re - un crit\u00e8re incontournable en Chine o\u00f9 la 508 II sera vendue et fabriqu\u00e9e (lira encadr\u00e9) - Empattement sera allong\u00e9. Une strat\u00e9gie calqu\u00e9e sur celles des constructeurs premium allemands qui proposent d\u00e9j\u00e0 leurs Audi A4 et leurs BMW S\u00e9rie 3 \u00ab\u00a0 longues\u00a0\u00bb C'est pourquoi, cette 508 modifi\u00e9e (4,90 m), sera fortement diff\u00e9renci\u00e9e de celle commercialis\u00e9e en France, et pourrait aussi s'en distinguer par son appellation\u00a0: 51)1. La terminaison en &lt;, 1\u00a0\u00bb caract\u00e9risant les mod\u00e8les Peugeot vendus hors d'Europe. Autre particularit\u00e9 chinoise, l'absence de motorisation diesel pour les particuliers. Ceci implique donc pour l'hybride de reposer sur un bloc thermique \u00e0 essence. Ce dernier est une \u00e9volution du 1.6 THP dont la cylindr\u00e9e a \u00e9t\u00e9 port\u00e9e \u00e0 1,8 litre. Peugeot cogite sur une version rechargeable, dont le but est de favoriser l'utilisation en mode \u00e9lectrique, notamment en d\u00e9cuplant l'autonomie. Mais la quantit\u00e9 de batteries n\u00e9cessaire, le poids et le prix du v\u00e9hicule augmentent en cons\u00e9quence\u00a0: 5000 C pour un hybride\u201e classique et 8000 C pour une version plug-in. Pour cette (derni\u00e8re, l'\u00e9quation \u00e9conomique risque d'\u00eatre insoluble. En Europe, Peugeot reconduira la technologie Hybrid-l (die\u00adsel\/\u00e9lectrique) dont il a \u00e9t\u00e9 pionnier. M\u00eame si aujourd'hui, pour r\u00e9ussir \u00e0 \u00e9couler ses 508 Hybrid 4 et 508 RXH, il rogne sur une partie de sa marge afin de limiter le surco\u00fbt et profite des primes de l'\u00c9tat fran\u00e7ais. l.a palette des motorisations thermiques sera beaucoup plus classique puisqu'il ne s'agira que d'\u00e9volutions des blocs \u00e0 quatre cylindres qui animent l'actuelle 508. Ainsi, en diesel, Peugeot reconduira le 2.0 I-1 Di en versions de 150, 163 et 180 ch, ainsi que le 2.2 HDi d\u00e9passant les 200 ch. Ces blocs, compatibles avec la norme antipollution Euro 6, adopteront dans le cadre de la r\u00e9duction des O un catalyseur SCR. Et le syst\u00e8me Stop&amp;Start devrait \u00eatre g\u00e9n\u00e9ralis\u00e9. Pour l'essence ce sera encore plus simple, puisque seul le 1.6 THP sera disponible, en trois niveaux de puissance\u00a0: 150, 200 et 265 ch.
